Taste Week Organized Jointly By Le Cordon Bleu İstanbul and French Cultural Center Brings Together the Celebrities of the Gastronomy World


lezzet-haftasi-logo-(4).pngThe traditional Taste Week, which has been organized in France since 1990, will take place for the first time in Turkey from November 4 to 8 at Özyeğin University and French Cultural Center. Özyeğin University and French Cultural Center will celebrate Taste Week with an elaborate program which dwells upon changing dining habits, the loss of taste in the food and beverage industry due to industrialization, as well as forgotten local products, and is enriched with conferences by the prominent figures of the gastronomy world, gastro-shows and gastronomy films.


 

Danièle Mazet-Delpeuch, Private Chef to French President François Mitterand

In celebration of Taste Week held in Istanbul to educate the public on the art of tasting,  French Cultural Center of Istanbul and Le Cordon Bleu will be having Danièle Mazet-Delpeuch, private chef to French President François Mitterand, as their guest of honor on November 5, 2013.

Hosted by Muriel Domenach, French Consul General, and Ayşecan Özyeğin Oktay, Executive Board Member of FIBA Group, the event will be celebrated in the form of a gala with a special film screening “Saveur du Palais – The Tastes of the Palace” inspired by Mme Daniele Mazet-Delpeuch, private chef to François Mitterand. Following the film screening at 19:00, Danièle Mazet-Delpeuch will perform a demo with Gilles Company , Le Cordon Bleu Master Chef, and sign her book “Carnets de cuisine du Périgord à l'Élysée” after the demo.
 

The Celebrities of the Gastronomy World Come Together During Taste Week


Taste Week will feature the celebrities of the gastronomy world including Özen Demircioğlu, founder of Kivahan, one of the largest coffee exporters of Turkey,  Artun Ünsal, scholar and author renowned for his research on Ottoman Cuisine and his articles, Arzu Aygen, author of  “Beyaz Unsuz, Şekersiz Hamur İşleri” (Pastries Without White Flour and Sugar), winner of the Gourmand Award and the best healthcare and nutrition book  of Turkey, and authors Nedim Atillla and Ayfer Lavi .
 

International Gastronomic Films

Taste Week also offers the opportunity to watch unforgettable gastronomic films on food culture and the art of cooking including The Tastes of The Palace, Julie and Julia, Entre les Bras, The Big Restaurant, and A Touch of Spice.
 

Interactive  Gastroshows

Students interested  in Gastronomy will have the chance to watch interactive demos enriched with tasting, attend workshops and participate in gastroshows performed by Le Cordon Bleu chefs.
 

Courses by Chefs with the  “Meilleur Ouvrier De France” Title

Le Cordon Bleu programs are delivered by renowned chefs holding titles such as “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” awarded in prestigious competitions.  Cuisine and Patisserie programs are delivered by Master Chef Gilles Company and  Master Chef Christophe Bidault , respectively.

Our chefs not only shares their own knowledge and experience in classical French cuisine but also world cuisine and international cooking techniques with Le Cordon Bleu students.
